Using the desktop tool

PicBean compresses, resizes, and converts JPEG, PNG, and WebP images. Use files you own or have permission to process. You keep responsibility for the images you select and for checking that your intended use is permitted.

Review every result

Compression and conversion may change visible detail, colors, dimensions, transparency, or metadata. A smaller file is not automatically suitable for every website, application, or printing task. Keep an original copy and inspect the downloaded or saved result before using it. This tool does not certify image authenticity or complete metadata removal.

Target sizes and compatibility

A target-size result is marked as a match only when its actual byte size is at or below the requested limit. Some targets cannot be reached within the allowed quality and dimension settings. Check any receiving service's own requirements for format, dimensions, and file size. This tool cannot guarantee that another service will accept your image.

Output folders

The default output folder is your system Downloads folder. You can choose another folder you can write to. Review naming and collision settings before saving, especially if you enable overwrite. Folder selection includes supported images recursively. File permissions, free disk space, and other applications can affect reading and saving. Cancelling processing or clearing the list does not delete files already saved.

Availability and scope

Corrupt, unsupported, or unusually large images may fail. An error message describes the result when processing cannot finish. The tool has no account, cloud backup, or recovery service for lost originals. Review the corresponding privacy policy for how this desktop tool handles files.
