Local processing means the image transformation happens on the device running the tool instead of being sent to a remote image-processing service. This changes the trust boundary, but a truthful privacy claim still depends on the complete page and its network behavior.

Your images stay in the browser

The local image compressor reads the JPEG, PNG, and WebP files you select and processes them on your device. Choose a mode, wait for the results, and download the copies you want to keep. Your original files are not overwritten.

You can follow progress while images are being processed, cancel unfinished work, and retry a file when needed. No image upload is required.

Local does not mean risk-free

Browsers still allocate memory while decoding, and a large or damaged file can fail. The tool limits batch size and image dimensions to reduce memory pressure. Smaller batches may help if your device is running low on memory.

The browser still loads this website’s pages, scripts, styles, and guide search index. Those ordinary website requests are separate from processing your selected images. Search runs locally after its index loads, and the tool’s coarse usage events stay in page memory. Opening an external link takes you to another site with its own data practices.
